Paragliding & Hang Gliding in Golden BC Canada

The 2019 Season is Underway…

Paragliding towards the Town of Golden BCThe road to the main launch site on Mount 7 (The Lookout) was clear as of the May 25th weekend. While conditions were difficult for the first few days, several locals didn’t miss the opportunity to air out their wings.

Resident sky-gods, Hugo Tschurtchenthaler and Scott Watwood were, of course, first to put up some big XC numbers. Scott Watwood set the pace early during a week of unusually fine weather at the beginning of May. He was able to access the low launch spot at 5k and proceeded to fly an out-and-return totalling 118km. On May 27,¬†Hugo Tschurtchenthaler launched from the Lookout and posted a 116km triangle flying deep into the Purcell Range. On the same day Hugo’s son, Theo, flew an open distance flight from the Mt7 Lookout downrange to a spot just short of Fairmont – around 120km. Good going guys!
